Two activists from Norwich delivered over 700 leaflets this afternoon in the city with the message that mainstream politicians are out of touch with the financial reality which millions of Britons are facing.

Earlier this year councillors on the City Council which is Labour controlled, along with all the Greens and Lib Dems shamefully voted unanimously to increase their allowances, at a time when the rest of us are facing price hikes in everything from petrol, food, electricity and council tax.

The feedback our activists received from householders was totally positive and they all expressed their disaffection with the current political establishment.

This anecdotally confirms that the time is ripe for wholesale political change and Patriotic Alternative continues to position itself as a very real challenger to the mainstream parties which have failed us.

Recently, a group of activists from both London and Eastern regions, were given a tour of the magnificent Westminster Abbey. Being the Royal Peculier (church) founded by Edward the Confessor in 1065, it is perhaps the most holy site in the country and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Europe. All 38 (soon to be 39) coronations since William the Conqueror have taken place there, and with over 3000 burials, it remains a vital and awe-inspiring capsule of English history. From some of our greatest monarchs-James I, Elizabeth I, Edward Longshanks and Henry V to literary figures such as Chaucer, Dickens and Kipling, to scientists like Newton and Darwin, there are buried heroes from every corner of our rich cultural conspectus.

Canonised by Pope Alexander III at the request of Henry III in 1161, St Edward the Confessor, the penultimate Saxon king is enshrined at the heart of the Abbey, surrounded by future claimants to the English throne.
