A Mesmerizing Spectacle

Another Universe Before the Big Bang

American astrophysicists have used mathematical tools to study the inhomogeneity of relic cosmic radiation.

They believe that it arose immediately after the birth of the universe. Participants of this study are sure of this fact, and there is a confirmation of the Big Bounce theory, whereby the emergence of our Universe was caused by the collapse of some "previous".

This Object Can Be Seen Even With Powerful Binoculars

That's probably why the M57 Ring has become the most popular observation object for astronomy enthusiasts.

The M57 Ring Nebula has an oval shape, with a star at its center. Its radius reaches about 1/3 of a light-year.
Solar Protoplanetary Disk

Roughly 4.6 billion years ago, a giant cloud of hydrogen and dust exploded under its own weight and formed the disk called the solar nebula.

Most of the substance concentrated in the center and created the Sun, while the rest of it formed the planets and other objects in the system.

The Giant-Impact Hypothesis

Computer modeling gives us a brilliant opportunity to create a visualization of processes in the cosmos. This visualization, which depicts the theory of the Moon's formation, was created by Dr. Robin Canup.

The theory of the impact formation of the Moon has many advocates. They claim that the satellite was formed as a result of a collision between Earth and a space object about 4.5 billion years ago.
When we hear "solar system," all we imagine is the Sun and the planets...

What everyone forgets is the satellites. Just look at the number of them.
How Far is the Moon from Earth?

Some sources argue that all the planets in the solar system can be placed between the satellite and Earth. But there is a small caveat to this statement๐Ÿ˜‰

They will only fit when the Moon is the farthest away from Earth. Since the orbits of all celestial bodies are ellipses and the Moon isn't an exception.

It is better to answer this questionโคด๏ธ with numbers. The distance from Earth to the Moon amounts to 384,400 kilometers.
"I'm burning, farewell, comrades!"

This was the phrase Yuri Gagarin said during the final stage of the flight.

In 1961, the year of the first flight into space, no one had a clear idea of how to overcome the dense layers of the atmosphere during the descent.

During his descent, Gagarin saw flames raging in the porthole and concluded the spacecraft was on fire. As a matter of fact, such a phenomenon occurs during every flight when the heat-resistant shell of the spacecraft is rubbing. Now, every astronaut is aware of this and ready for the fiery spectacle.

Tea ball in Space

Note, it has its own rotation around the axis. It is only when all transients have stabilized and there is a constant rate of rotation that the liquid transforms into a full ball shape and the air, which is inside, gathers in the center.

Thus, this is nothing more than a manifestation of the centrifugal force.

Jupiter's turbulent atmosphere

The photo was taken on Jupiter in the early morning hours when the Sun was illuminating the top of a massive thunderstorm.

Astronauts from the ISS can observe 16 sunsets and sunrises within 24 hours๐Ÿ˜ฑ

How is this possible?

The orbital velocity of the ISS is 7.6 km/sec. So, it takes the station only 92 minutes to fly around the Earth.
The first space hotel is expected to open in Earth's orbit by 2027

The space station will consider not only hotel rooms, but also places for building private villas.

The first ever space hotel is planned to be built in this decade.

Earth Rotates Faster and Faster Every Year

Scholars have analyzed that the current speed of the Earth's rotation has hit its maximum for the past 60 years. If it keeps going this way, estimated and actual time may differ by 0.9 seconds by 2026.

And then, we would have to turn down Earth time for the first timeโ—๏ธ
Human Orbital Stay World Record

๐Ÿ“ŒThe world record for the space flight duration belongs to Russian cosmonaut Valeriy Polyakov. He spent 437 days on the Mir station.

And this year the NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei intends to break the record for the United States. For this purpose, he has to stay aboard the ISS until April 2021.
Is it possible for astronauts to get sick in space?

Astronauts are human beings, too, and they are prone to injury, poisoning, or colds. Anything is possible in space.

In order to prevent illnesses and provide first aid, all necessary medicines and equipment are aboard - from bandages, ointments, antibiotics to medical equipment ranging from the simplest to special. Also the entire crew is trained in the basics of first aid.

Medical team is always on call, ready to help and advise what medicines to take.

Also, to exclude the appearance of infectious diseases in space, the crew enters observation mode: daily checks, they examine everyone who comes in, i.e. everything is done to prevent bringing infections to the station.
Why do astronauts not fly to the dark side of the Moon?

The point is that there is no radio communication with Earth on the other side of the Moon.

One solution to this problem is to use a constellation of satellites to send a signal, though this approach is expensive and difficult.

Sending people to the Moon without constant communication is an unreasonable riskโ—

Japanese Scientists Demonstrated Soil Particles from the Ryugu Asteroid

Japanese Hayabusa-2 spacecraft flew by Earth and dropped a container of rocks from the surface of a near-Earth asteroid.

Previously, Ryugu was thought to be rich in water. One hypothesis suggests this asteroid underwent some sort of alteration by water, resulting in the formation of hydrated clays. And at some point, the asteroid heated up to temperatures at which partial dehydration occurred.

Now scientists have a chance to test this version, as well as other working hypotheses.
NASA has shared a photo of a supermassive black hole

It is located in the center of the NGC 1600 galaxy. Scientists claim that the black hole weighs as much as 17 billion Suns.
