If the EU introduces new regulatory measures for IT companies, this is a reasonable improvement of legislation and thoughtful work on the security of European clients' data in their own interests.

If China does exactly the same thing - straight to the letter, i.e. just as the EU fined conditional Microsoft for "not giving away customer data to third non-EU companies without their customers' knowledge", so the PRC fines for "not giving customer data to third companies not from China without their customers' knowledge", then this is totalitarian the hell of fascism and coercion, the Red Guards, the destruction of the IT sector, the hatred for advanced technologies, and in general "mom, mom, it seems I have a huge terrible communist under the bed."
