The city is located on the shores of the Gulf of the same name of the Aegean Sea, 90 km south of the third largest city in Turkey, Izmir, and 71 km from the city of Aydin, the administrative center of the province. The city of Kusadasi is the administrative center of the district of the same name, bordering on two districts of the Aydın province: Germencik, Soke and the Selçuk district of the province of Izmir.
