Additionally, at a location far enough from the equator, the phenomenon of magnetic dip will be more pronounced. A compass will need to be specifically designed to be used in such locations. Otherwise, the needle will bind and will not give us the correct results. This phenomenon is obviously not compatible with what is claimed by flat-Earthers: a balanced compass does not point to the north pole. The same excuse they are using to ‘disprove’ spherical Earth also applies to them.
I think it's a great idea to have flat earthers explain their position on how everything ties into what they think is a "flat earth", I'll host a discussion if flat earthers are honest, civil and prepared to explain in detail their position.

If we plot which areas of the Earth that are getting sunlight on an azimuthal equidistant map centered on the north pole, the sun would appear to illuminate a somewhat elliptical area during the northern hemisphere summer, and a lopsided Bat-Signal shaped area during the winter. During the equinox, the sun would appear to illuminate a half-circle area.
This fact is not a problem because the azimuthal-equidistant is a map, and like any other map, it has distortions. An area of the map closer to the center represents a larger real-world area compared to the same map area farther from the center.
On the other hand, flat-Earthers insist the azimuthal-equidistant map is the map of a flat-Earth, devoid of any distortions. And this is a problem for them. They would have to invent just another ad-hoc ‘explanations’ how the sun illuminates such an impossible area. Their ‘lamp-shade’ or the ‘spotlight’ explanations fail to explain it.

Flat-Earthers did not know such instruments exist, and happy to claim there is no instrument sensitive enough to detect Earth’s rotation. In reality, directly measuring Earth’s rotation using the Sagnac effect was successfully accomplished by Michelson-Gale-Pearson almost a century ago.

For example, TFES invented the so-called ‘universal acceleration’ to ‘explain’ gravity; however, most of the other denominations reject it.
