It’s interesting to see the ethio-Amhara elite are ‘reflecting’ (albeit nostalgically) about the February 1974 (የካቲት 1966) mass revolution. (Some have even ventured to characterise—or re-describe—it as a petit-bourgeois revolution.)

It would be great to hear how the Others of the Ethiopian imperial state experienced the revolution: how it raised/addressed their questions; or how it objectified them (and turned them into a problem) and ‘spoke’ on their behalf; or how the urban mass movement ignored them (or rendered them absent); how consequential the revolution proved to be to them; how the revolution—while allegedly being conducted on their behalf—undermined their subjectivity and how—while speaking loudly on their behalf—silenced them; etc.
