We’ve discussed slightly some aspects that are capable of influencing whisky qualities but they all deal with whisky in storages – no matter wooden or glass. But what is whisky made for? For drinking it surely. It means we have to consider aspects influencing whisky when it is free from a bottle and is in its almost final position – in a glass.

The most popular and even hyped is the form you can see in the picture. Wide and round or square. Indeed, this glass became associated with whisky consumption years ago but there always needs to be an alternative. What is important is that whisky gets warm very quickly unless there is ice in the glass.

Glasses, used for degustation by seasoned whisky connoisseurs, are of a different shape. It has a certain narrowing in the middle of a glass body that helps to accumulate the flavour. Moreover, it usually has a special base to hold so that body warmth can be controlled.
